CARACTERÍSTICAS EMPREENDEDORAS: UM ESTUDO DE CASO COM FARMACÊUTICOS UTILIZANDO O MODELO DE MCCLELLAND

O empreendedorismo é a base para o desenvolvimento de um país. No Brasil o empreendedor está relacionado com a abertura de micro e pequenas empresas. O país tem o maior índice de empreendedores em estágios inicias em países que compõem o bloco do G-20 e BRICS. A atividade com maior crescimento no Brasil, em 2010, foi o setor varejista, com índice de 16,5%. O segmento farmacêutico representa a terceira maior alta desse segmento, daí a importância de se compreender melhor esse setor. Partindo da importância econômica e social do setor varejista de atividade farmacêutica e, do crescimento do empreendedorismo no Brasil, esse artigo propõe-se a discutir quais são as características empreendedoras presentes em um grupo de farmacêuticos. Para responder a esse objetivo foi utilizado o modelo teórico proposto por McClelland (1972) que define dez características comportamentais empreendedoras. Os entrevistados selecionados foram farmacêuticos que participavam de um curso de capacitação em gestão empreendedora na cidade de Belo Horizonte. Esta pesquisa é um estudo de campo descritivo com abordagem quantitativa. Os resultados mostraram que em apenas duas características o grupo estudado não atingiu o nível estipulado no modelo teórico. Os achados são úteis para definir programas de capacitação e de desenvolvimento comportamental das características empreendedoras.
