Internacionalización moderando la relación entre inversión e innovación en pequeñas empresas en América Latina

Objetivo: El principal objetivo de este estudio fue examinar en qué medida los esfuerzos de internacionalización moderan la relación entre las inversiones en investigación y desarrollo (I+D) y los resultados de innovación logrados por las pequeñas empresas, es decir, las pequeñas y medianas empresas - PYMES. Metodología: La metodología utilizada consistió en una investigación cuantitativa con datos de 10.621 Pymes de 17 países de América Latina. El presente estudio involucró análisis factoriales y regresivos. Principales Resultados: Los resultados obtenidos permitieron concluir que los esfuerzos de internacionalización influyen positiva y estadísticamente significativa en los resultados de innovación, permitiendo a las Pymes de los países latinoamericanos incrementar su competitividad a través de la construcción o mejora de productos, servicios o demandas. Aportes teóricos: Al final de la investigación también se concluyó que las inversiones en I+D influyen positivamente en los resultados de innovación y que las empresas que invierten en I+D y además emplean esfuerzos de internacionalización tienen más probabilidades de presentar innovación. Relevancia y originalidad: Fue la primera vez que un estudio evaluó de manera conjunta y empírica el efecto moderador de los esfuerzos de internacionalización en la relación entre las inversiones en I+D y los resultados de innovación, totalizando una muestra de 10.621 PYME. Contribuciones gerenciales y sociales. conocimiento de América Latina, por lo que se espera que se logre una mayor comprensión de las barreras al desarrollo de las Pymes, a través del avance de los esfuerzos de internacionalización, inversiones en I+D e innovación. Por tanto, el objetivo es incentivar a académicos y profesionales a buscar soluciones para superar estas barreras.
