The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between innovation capacity and product innovation performance of SME in the industrial sector of Santa Catarina. As for the methodology, the research is characterized as descriptive-explanatory, and as far as the means of investigation is a field research. The procedures used was a quantitative data collection through the application of a cross-sectional sample survey. The descriptive statistical analysis was developed initially, proceeding from multivariate statistical analyzes (modeling of structural equations) using the model of Partial Least Squares (PLS-PM). Hypothesis testing reveals that the ability to innovate and relevant to process innovation has a positive effect on the performance of product innovation. The results of the research corroborate with the literature on innovation capacity, which points to process innovation as relevant to innovation capacity.Downloads
